Women

The WCG, “Women of The Church of God”, is a group of ladies that meet once a month, on the third Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in our coffee room.  In our meetings, we discuss what we need to do for all the upcoming events.  We have a time of prayer for our congregational needs and the needs of friends, family and loved ones.  We ladies are fortunate to have so many men that help us out with each of our projects.  Here are a few things that we do: funeral dinners, help with some church dinners, Christmas bazaars, Enduro Runs, and Christmas Shoe Boxes.  We added a new one last year; Christmas Gifts for the flood victims in North Carolina and will be doing this again this year with Kim Stinard leading us.  Monica Delong will be heading up the ‘Christmas Child’ ShoeBox ministry this year.  We also do the Laurelville Alumni banquet.  We help with the Christmas treats for the congregation and we have given out gift cards to those going through some tough times. We do the Christ Birthday offering and all money goes to help those who need help getting through tough times. We do so many small things, but to the people receiving them it’s a blessing.  We stay very busy and are so blessed by the best congregation ever.  We could never do any of this without them.  Also I can’t fail to mention we have made so many noodles.  Our record at this time is 65 lbs.  That’s oodles of noodles.  Our officers are: Angi Griffith - Secretary, Shirley Litman - Treasurer, Laura Miller - Devotional Leader, Vicky Hettinger - Vice Chair and Peggy Wiggins - Chair.  Thank you Church!  Thank you God!
